Obituary of Shirley Lee Waring

Shirley Lee Waring passed away peacefully at her home on Harstine Island, July 6, 2015. She was born on September 11, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Melvin and Lydia Burgess. Shirley loved the outdoors, family time, fishing and swimming, but most importantly, her relationship with Jesus. Shirley worked in banking for over 35 years. She was very generous and always had a kind word to say about everyone. She truly was a “gentle soul.” She will forever be missed. She is proceeded in death by both of her parents and her older brother, Howard Patrick Burgess. Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard; Sons, John Waring (Joyce), Dan Oliveira (Debbie), Rich Waring (Heather) and daughter, Louisa O’Brien (Dan), as well as grandchildren, Michael, Kati, Danielle, Andrew, Blake and Austin. Her “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Sunday, July 19th, 2015 at 1:00pm at Bridge Community Church on Harstine Island, where Shirley and Richard attended.
