Phillip John Scrafford, of Shelton, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at his home in Shelton after a long illness and was at the young age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Barbara Scrafford and his brother Michael Scrafford.
He was born September 12, 1946 in Tacoma to Robert and Barbara Scrafford. He was raised and lived in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School.
He served in the Navy during Vietnam from 1964-1967. Phil worked for the Yelm School District for more than 20 years.
Phil had a longtime love of Pontiac cars as he showed with his devotion to his very own 1965 Pontiac Catalina perfectly named O-Yeller. He showed his car throughout the United States during his lifetime. He was a faithful member of the Washington Pontiac Car Club in which he truly enjoyed being a member and loved the longtime friendships he had; especially with Danny Dickey and his wife Carla.
He loved John Wayne and had his very own collection of all his movies. He was also a lifelong fan of the Seattle Seahawks and never missed a game. He absolutely loved Christmas. He would spend hours upon hours decorating his home both inside and out. And even won for the best decorations within Mason County one year!
Surviving members of Phil’s family include his wife Linda L. Scrafford, his daughter Bridgette and her husband Daniel and step-daughter Lynn Rostvold and seven grandchildren; Dakota, Liam, Shane, Alex Rostvold, Koehn Taylor and Justin & Levi Barker. And his nephew Daniel.
Phil’s graveside service will be held Saturday, July 25th at the Shelton Memorial Park at 1:00pm. Immediately following the service there will be a gathering at the home of Lynn Rostvold & Wil Satak; 170 SE McTurnal Way, Shelton.
Phil will be truly missed by his wife Linda who always referred to him as her “Million Dollar Man. A term of endearment that he absolutely loved and would always bring a brilliant smile to his face; even when he wasn’t feeling all that well.
