Grandpa and I had some great times! He was more fun to be around than most people my age. He enjoyed going to the fiddler's festivals and to VFW events. Not that those were that exciting, but I remember awhile back when he could still get around ok I went to one of the VFW dances with him, and we had a couple of dances. I think he enjoyed having me go along with him. Gramps has been in the Veterans Home the last few years, but before that we used to enjoy hanging out at his house, looking at photographs, or driving around Harstene Island. Grandpa and his whiskey and waters! Well thanks to him that is my drink now, I will certainly think of him every time I have one, and will pour one for him too! I am glad I can look back, and feel grateful for the time we spent together, the knowledge I gained from my time with him is great and will be passed on. I hope I can live a life so rich.

Gordon my wonderful father in law.! A man of integrity, values, morals and respect to all.
I remember Gordon who was a proud man to have served our country in WWII. He was a kind and gentle sole. Loved talking with people, making friends easily.
He like traveling to Yuma being a snowbird. And again connecting with old friends and making new ones.
I never failed to tell Gordon on Veterans Day----Thank You for serving our country
and giving us the freedom we have in United States Of America. With a tear in his eye
he told me, "Is so nice of you to always remember- Thank You"
Gordon and I shared a special relationship. I Remember the day he called and ask me to spend the night with him at Retsil. We had a great time reminising of past and present times.
We discussed death and dying and where he was at in the process. He stated, he was so glad I could spend the time and relieve him of his worry of dying. I shall always remember Gordon and Odella and the time spent during their last days and minutes of their life. So again.
Gordon- Thank you for your service for our country. It is Veterans Days again.
God Bless You! Rest in Peace.
