Obituary of Sharon Lee Evans

Sharon Lee Evans, 79, of Olympia, Washington, went to be with the Lord, October 26, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Sharon, who lived with MS for almost 50 yrs, died from pneumonia at St Peters Hospital in Olympia. Sharon was born in Tacoma, Washington, to Frank and Verna Skeen, on December 8, 1935. She went to high school at Olympia High School and graduated in 1953. She worked as an accountant for the Washington State Judicial Counsel for many years. She enjoyed reading, especially her bible, crossword puzzles, family vacations and children's birthday parties, but mostly she loved being with her family and the love of her life, Chester. She wrote many beautiful words of her love and devotion to him over the years through her poetry from her heart. She signed each one, "All my love always, Sharon." She was a member of the Holly Guild for the Seattle Children's Hospital for many years and was active in raising funds for the hospital. She treasured those lifelong friendships with those women dearly. Many evenings laughing and planning were spent together. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Verna Skeen, and sister Colleen Koch. Sharon is survived by her husband, Chester Lee Evans of Olympia, her daughters, Linda and husband Larry Zink, Laura and husband Alan Canida, and son Bill Evans. Also by her loving grandchildren, Summer and husband Brad Scandrett, Crystal and husband Rick Erickson, Brianna and husband Kyle Stewart, Ryan Zink, Jeremy Howell and wife Kacie, and Andrew Howell. She also was blessed to have 10 great grandchildren, Aiden, Abby, Alyssa, and Asher Erickson, Canyon, Sage and Haven Scandrett, Maddison and Teagen Stewart and the newest little guy, Lucas Howell. Also survived by her sister, Shirley Skeen, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her infectious smile and constant unconditional love will be greatly missed, but we know she is dancing in heaven now and not lacking anything. While we will miss her dearly, we are not without HOPE that we will see her again when we join her in the presence of the LORD. A Celebration of Life Service will be held December 5, 2015. Service and potluck from 1-3pm at the Woman's Club of Olympia, 1002 Washington St. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Please come join us and help celebrate and remember her wonderful life. As we celebrate, please feel free to bring your favorite food or snack to have at the potluck as we talk, honor and share our love of Sharon; wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Donations gladly accepted for the Seattle Children's Hospital in Sharon's name. Donations can be made at the Celebration of Life Service on December 5th, or mailed to: Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation M-S S-200 PO Box 5371 Seattle, WA 98145-5005.
