Although I only knew Dennis the past two years, we became good friends. That's because we shared so much in common. We both played football in high school, we both graduated college with degrees in elementary education, we both played guitar, we both lived with a girl from Oakville, and, as a common friend told me we were both "grumpy old men". I want to tell about the last time I saw Dennis. It was a couple days before Christmas and we were up in his room talking. He asked me what I had planned for X-mas. I explained that somehow, somewhere, I lost $500 I had set aside, so I was skipping X-mas this year. The next thing I know, Dennis had pulled $200 from his wallet and tried to give it to me. I thanked him for the offer, but explained it was my screw-up and I'll get by. With all that he was going through, for him to be concerned about me that way, shows what kind of friend he was. I miss Dennis and our friendship. I'll never forget him.

I'm really missing him we texted or talked almost everyday . I have so many memories I think one of the funny ones was the time he hurt his back lifting the riding lawnmower himself instead of asking for help and he put his back out and got the bright idea that he would gig it back into place by hanging by his feet from the dog run cable!! I couldn't talk him out of it so I cut some pieces of foam to put around his ankles so they wouldn't hurt from the rope and he began trying to gig his back in and of course it didn't work and I just got through telling him we just need to go to the doctor and he said he wanted to try one more thing first. He want to lay down and tie his hands together and jerk him real quick with being tied to the car!! I told him no but of course he one out and we were just getting ready to try it when 5 cop cars came flying into the drive way and jumped out of there cars with guns out pointing at me!! I just yelled Dennis you better say something so as he is laying on the ground with his hands tied together lol he says no wait guys we were just trying to gig my back into place!! The one cop says this was consensual and Dennis said yes and he began to explain it to them !! Well I guess they had a couple people call and tell them I was standing over him with a knife and I was trying to kill him !!! Lol By the time Dennis got through explaining they all were laughing and the one cop said I have been a cop for 25 years and I have never been on a call like this !! Lol Life was never dull with him! Dennis you are deeply missed and I loved you very much
