Obituary of Ronald Lyle Thomas
Ronald L. “Bud” Thomas, 83, a resident of Olympia for 40 years, died Dec. 30, 2013, at home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Wolf Point, Mont., to Archie and Winifred (Nason) Thomas.
He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, and was an airman first class on discharge.
Bud married Jeanette R. Springer on Aug. 12, 1950, in Brinnon.
He was a machinist (tool and die maker) at Continental Can / Crown Cork & Seal Co. in Olympia.
He was a member of the Olympia Elks and Olympia Eagles clubs, and was an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and firearms.
Bud is survived by wife Jeanette (Springer) Thomas of Olympia; daughter Annette Settle (Steve) of Shelton; sons Ron C. Thomas (Tara) of Tenino and Randy L. Thomas (Diane) of Rainier; twin brother Robert Thomas (Delores) of Enumclaw; grandchildren Pete, Mary, James, Kayla, Cort, Ashley and Aryn; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial will take place at 1 p.m. on Jan. 11 at Brinnon Community Church, Brinnon. Pastor Dan Kennedy will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Brinnon Cemetery.
