it was 1991, Jack hired me at what was then Providence Seattle Medical Center. Little did I know how lucky I was! I learned in the years I worked with Jack was great man he was. Full of fun, tough when he had to be and beyond loyal.
I have so many memories:
On a hot day, perhaps running over to the Jeff Mart and sneaking a few beers back into the office
The mock disaster drill and Jack's finger was broken by an over zealous "victim:"
Jack speaking "strongly" to someone who showed me too much unwanted attention.
His laugh went I couldn't pronounce Pend Oreille.
So many memories of that time I will keep with me forever.
He was the best of all my bosses - allowed me to grow into my job, allowed me freedom in my job and always, always had my back
And for you, dear Linda: "everybody loves a baby that's why I'm in love with me, Pretty Jackie!" I can hear him singing it now....

Jack hired me in December of 1981, wow time has gone by! He could lean back in a chair with his hands behind his head so far I cannot believe I never saw him fall back. He was at his best when we were in a survey he would bring the surveyor in the office and get them so far off track and end up talking about anything but healthcare. He loved his job and the people he worked with including the Sister who in his day were all over that campus and even across the street in the building he lived. It was hard to win an argument with Jack and one day I remember him telling me “if you don’t like it you will need to learn to say supersize it. Referencing go work at McDonalds if you don’t do it my way. Deep down he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. The photo brings back so many good memories of a time when things seemed much simpler and we truly got to know the people we worked with. Jack will always be a part of me and most everyone he touched. RIP Jack and know you made a difference in so many lives. Steve

Jack was a wonderful person and a great boss. He helped me out of my shyness and taught me it was ok to stand up for myself and for that I am forever grateful. I still miss all of his jokes and the songs that he would sing in the office. Linda I am so glad that the 2 of you met and had a wonderful life together and am sending you my thoughts and prayers.
