Obituary of Gregory Lynn Garringer

Gregory Lynn Garringer, journeyed home on January 18, 2019 with his wife by his side. Gregory was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 2, 1948 to Jack and Peggy (Brown) Garringer. Greg graduated from Magnolia High School in Anaheim, California in 1968. Gregory married Beverly Wilson the love of his life in May of 1975. He owed his own sporting goods store and loved fixing rods and reels. He went on to college and graduated from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas in 1980. He then decided to go to seminary at Mid Western Southern Baptist Seminary and graduated in 1992. Gregory became the Senior Pastor at Cottonwood Falls Baptist Church in Cottonwood, Kansas. He also was a prison Chaplin in Ellsworth, Kansas. In 2003 Gregory moved the family to Shelton after accepting the job as the Chaplin at Washington Correction Center where he was currently employed. Gregory loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. When Gregory and his wife were younger they loved doing stained glass together and camping, as long as it was in a trailer. Gregory was a devoted father and husband. He loved and doted over his wife Beverly. We know that Gregory is in his heavenly home. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. He is preceded in death by his son, Nathan Garringer and his father Jack Garringer, nephew Steven Garringer. Gregory is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Garringer, his mother Peggy Garringer, Brother Marc Garringer (Kim) and many other family members. There is a Celebration of Life scheduled on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2pm at the Shelton United Methodist Church. Services are being provided by McComb & Wagner Funeral Home.
