I always enjoy Don and Dotty's company. One year I stopped by for a quick visit and they had company. Apparently they were celebrating an early Thanksgiving. They invited me to have Thanksgiving Dinner with them and the family. I felt so privileged that they included me. My husband had recently passed away and that gesture meant so much to me. I enjoyed the family.
Don always had a great sense of humor. I remember talks with him and Dotty were always filled with laughter. I always felt welcomed in their home.
May you Rest In Peace Don and Dotty may you only remember the good times.
Love,
Sylvia

I remember so many times when we'd gone over to Yakima and several times my mom and I would be in Bi-Mart while he, and Dotty would be there to visit her mom. We'd say "HI" and visit a bit each time and be on our way. On one occasion he was chuckling and I saw Dotty with her mom and a cart in tow. Seems there was a sale on furnace filters and she had the cart completely full of the filters. Dotty looked a bit uncomfortable but we all talked about how things in life can be crazy. Always easy to talk to.
Don said to my mom and I, "I don't know how she could possibly use all of these in one lifetime!" Sometimes you just have to humor people.
He and Dotty were always so nice to us. The first time I'd met them I was with Danette, when she and Ken lived at Chateau Le Claire. My first husband, my daughter and myself lived just above them. He and Dotty lived in Federal Way behind TJ Highschool. They welcomed us so warmly. I appreciated their family and the closeness they had with one another.
I feel blessed to have known him and known of him as I did!
PS I even saw them on a Friday Night in line at the buffet at the casino but that was quite awhile ago. Yes we talked then too, however briefly.
People come in and out of your lives. We don't always know the why's but it was good to have met Don and the family far too many years ago. Suddenly, I feel old....
