Obituary of Kari A Tinsley
Kari Ann Tinsley, 66 of Hoodsport, WA passed away in her home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Kari has been a fierce fighter with her recurrent breast cancer for almost 9 years. Her body was freed as she entered The Gates of Heaven on May 4, 2022. She was surrounded by the love of her family at the time of her last earthly heartbeat.
Kari was born on July 31st, 1955 in Williston, North Dakota. The daughter of Glen Vandeberg and Lois (Kellar) Vandeberg. She moved from North Dakota to Port Orchard, Washington in 1968 where she attended South Kitsap High School.
After high school, Kari settled into Federal Way, Washington where she raised her family and worked as a medical office manager in downtown Seattle. When she retired she and her husband moved to the home they had built above Lake Cushman. Kari was a talented gardener, crafter, skilled baker, and gifted cook. She will be remembered for the beauty she created with her hands and heart. Kari was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt, and friend to many.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Kari is survived by her husband, Jim Tinsley, of Hoodsport, WA; her children: son, Jeff Glenisky of Tacoma, WA, son, Jamie Glenisky and wife, Stephanie, of Gig Harbor, WA; her stepchildren: stepson, Kevin and wife, Lisa, of Fox Island, WA, stepson, Skot, of Des Moines, WA, stepson, Jeff and wife, Jennifer of Seattle, WA. Kari is also survived by her siblings: sisters, Paula Trunzo of Tacoma, WA and Jan Halvorson of Puyallup, WA and brother, Greg Vandeberg of Port Orchard, WA. Kari loved her grandchildren immensely as they brought light to her life, grandchildren: Gracen, Waylon, and Eva. Kari also had five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Lois.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am on June 10th, 2022 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 601 West C Street, Shelton WA 98584.
