Obituary of Sharon Etue

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 27, 2023, Sharon Etue left this world for the next blissfully in her sleep. Sharon was born to Wanda Odom (Franklin) and Eldon Odom on November 15, 1947 in Perry, OK. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Thursday, June 1st from 3 to 4pm at the McComb & Wagner Family Funeral Home located at 718 W Railroad Ave, Shelton, WA 98584. She met the love of her life when her eldest brother Larry brough Jerry Etue home to Kelseyville, CA on leave from the Air Force. They were married soon after on November 20, 1965. For the next several years, they made Kelseyville their home until making the decision to move back to Jerry’s home state of Washington. After having raised their family of 4 children, they bought their dream property and built a cabin with the help of their grown children and friends, which would eventually be known as “The Property” and “The Cabin.” This became their sanctuary, where they built a farm and watched their family grow to 12 grandchildren and 9 soon to be 10 great grandchildren. When they weren’t out at The Property, they could be found traveling, whether it was chasing the sun in the tropics, or heading to the mountains in search of snow. And more times than not, they would have a grandkid, or many, in tow. If you were to assign a motto to how she lived her life, it would be, “Thrive, not just survive.” She loved to share life experiences with her family, whether it was a lazy summer day by the river out at The Cabin, taking the grandkids on a quick overnight trip to the ocean, or organizing camping trips for the whole family. To her, the most honorable position in life you could obtain was that of Nana. Being Nana to her grandkids and great grandkids brought her so much happiness, getting to watch and witness her children building their own families and getting to share what life had to offer with the next generation is what gave her her spark. Her love language was gift giving; thus, you could always find her loaded up with shopping bags from various places, or souvenirs from her travels, or bringing over the odd gift or clothes just because she thought of you. And with no surprise, her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter, allowing her to shower her loved ones with gifts and getting to watch the excitement and happiness on her family’s faces. She was selfless with her time and love, always making time for her family, whether it was for a kid’s sports game, or whooping the grandkids’ butts at various video games. Even if she did not share your opinion, you could always know that she would be there for you no matter what. She will forever be loved and missed. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughter Lorie Lider and spouse Chuck Lider with their children Holly and Brianna Walter and their children Teagan and Ryker, Sarah and her daughter Mia, and Aaron; her son Chris Etue and spouse Kristy Etue with their children Tylie and Dylan Rosbach, and Mason; her son Joe Etue and spouse Stephanie Etue; Travis Goodridge and spouse Destiny Goodridge and their children Aubree and Sophia, Haden, and Taylor; her daughter Jennelle Etue and her children Cassie Long and partner Jason San Nicolas and their children Jaden, Ayla ‘Mae, and Dylan, and Alicia Long; and her brothers Darrell Odom and Mike Odom; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
