James Allen Kimmerly 71, passed away on June 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1952 to Ray Kimmerly and Phyllis Kimmerly (ne Brehmeyer). He initially lived at Camp Govey with his parents, until he attended schools in Shelton. He graduated from Shelton High School in 1971. He served with the United States Air Force, stationed in Tucson AZ with the 390th Strategic Missile Wing. Upon discharge he returned to work at his position with Simpson Timber Co, and Olympic Panel Plywood, with a 44 year career. He married Rosa ne Herrera and they raised their son Matthew in Olympia. In 2000, they moved to Shelton to his dream home overlooks the Olympics and Hood Canal. Jim was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying water skiing, swimming, boating, tennis, and golf. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and hunting and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Rosa, son Matthew (Karen), sister Kerri and brother Darrell (Brita). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
