Dallas Lynn Blair November 4, 1941-July 29, 2023 Union, Washington - Dallas Blair was born in Tacoma, Washington, graduated from Fife High School in 1959, served in the Army Reserves, and attended Western Washington State College (now WWU) from 1960-1964. He married Diane Lee and had two daughters Darcy (Celletti) and Dorian (Skiffington). Dallas was a loved and respected thought leader and visionary within Education and served as an elementary school teacher and principal in the Edmonds and University Place School Districts. During his tenure, he was the founding principal of Drum Intermediate School. Dallas married Lauri in 1996 and created a life on Hood Canal. After retiring, Dallas, followed his entrepreneurial spirit, and pursued a number of new ventures, including the restoration and selling of boats, an antique shop and building their dream home on his beloved Hood Canal, where he continued to restore vintage Airstream trailers through 2020. He loved his family! His grandchildren Ellie, Angelo, and Ben enjoyed their earlier years with at least weekly visits and trips to get ice cream milkshakes with their Papa. Dallas loved nature and the water and spent his time fishing, boating and skiing. Dallas was an inspiration and always helped friends and family aspire to do big things and develop lifelong skills. Family members remember Dallas teaching them to drive, buying them their first car, and teaching anyone interested to waterski (“Flat water, let’s go!”). Dallas was preceded in death by his Parents Geraldine Fletcher (E.A) and Jack Blair, and his brother Jack Blair. He is survived by his wife Lauri; siblings Carol (Dave) Dickerson and Kyle Blair; his daughters Darcy (Aaron) and Dodi (Aaron); Lauri’s children, David Fick, Kim (Ertan) Torgal and Joey (Lori) Fick: grandchildren, Ellie, Angelo, Ben, Amber, Tristan, Ayla, Josie, Charlie and Henry.
