Dr. Gerald Guy “Bill” Randolph
1935-2024
Dr. Gerald Guy Randolph, known to his friends and family as “Bill”, passed away peacefully in his home on January 13, 2024, at the age of 88.
He was born on September 6, 1935, in Casper, Wyoming. Most of Bill's primary education years were spent in Richmond, Washington where he tended to spend more time with horses than homework. He pursued higher education at The Citadel which gave him much needed discipline and structure, and he graduated in 1957. His education continued at the University of Washington Medical School where he earned his Medical Degree in 1961.
It was during his time in medical school that Bill met and fell in love with Mary Louise Green. Their love grew into a lifelong commitment. They were married in 1960 and were blessed with 63 years of shared life and love.
Bill’s medical and surgical residency was served with distinction in the U.S. Army where he rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel. After 10 years in the Army, he settled in Olympia Washington and opened his own private Otolaryngology practice in 1971. At the time he was the only E.N.T. head and neck specialist in the area. With his wife Mary as office manager, he operated a successful practice for many years while raising his family. His career as a dedicated and compassionate doctor continued until his retirement in 2017 at the age of 82.
A man of deep faith, Bill, alongside his wife, was an active member of the New Community Church of Union. His Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing comfort in the sorrow of loss and joy in the assurance of his eternal life with God.
Bill's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Mary, their three children - Will, Dan, and Connie, their seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also remembered with love for his eighth grandchild, Chris, who he is now reunited with in heaven. His life was a testament to the values of dedication, love, and faith.
A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at the New Community Church of Union at 1 PM on Saturday, February 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's honor to the New Community Church of Union or to the World Vision Global Hunger Fund.
Bill's journey on earth has ended, but his story continues in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
