Obituary of Mike Hendrix

Mike passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. His long struggle with COPD ended after he got pneumonia from being very dehydrated. Mike was born on October 2, 1946 in Benkelman, Nebraska, to farmer Roy & Margaret Hendrix. Mike settled in Thurston County in 1982 after construction in Salt Lake City & belonged to the Labors' International Union of North America since that time. Mike served in the Army and Army Reserve. Mike enjoyed drives in the country during the changing seasons, football, actually most sports. His Eagle collection was endless. He is survived by four sisters, Shirley M. Davis residing in Poughquay‎, NY‎; Della P. Vaughan residing in Little Elm, TX; Shirley A. Smith of Sedona, AZ; C. Kay Nicholson from Olympia, WA; three nephews, Roy M. Vaughan, of Kelso, WA; Phillip M. Markel & Skylar S. Markel, both of Thurston County; 2 nieces Marisa DeGregorius of Poughquay, NY, Katrina B. Vaughan of Wrangell, AK; two great nephews and two great niece. Mike left his beloved dog Jasper and many long time friends from the Thurston County area.
