Papa was one of those guys who loved to laugh, it was contagious.
I had the pleasure of helping him out for a month. We had several great conversations.
One of many things I will remember is him telling me that I'm a great woman and not to let anyone tell or treat me like Im not. This was out of the blue, it was very heartwarming to hear. A man and his toothpick! Toothpick, always in his mouth, he could move it quicker than lighting, when giving a kiss..
Papa never had kids of his own, we were his kids. He loved us regardless of how dysfunctional we are.
Papa, you will always have a special place in my heart, I love you and will miss you, until we meet again.
God, thank you for sending him our way, and for all the years you gave us with him..

Papa loved telling the story of when I was a little girl, maybe 3-4 years old. We were outside and I was probably doing something I shouldn't have been doing, Papa put on his bad cop voice to reprimand me for whatever I did. I stormed off upset in a tantrum, and as I did a huge rumble of thunder and bolt of lightning shot through the sky! I immediately turned on my heals and sprinted right back to my Papa, clinging to his leg for dear life. Even then, I knew papa would always protect me, no matter what! I knew I could run to him and he would be right there ready to pick me up and comfort me. And, even though he has gone before us, I know he is still here for us. I know that he is watching over each and every one of us. I know that whenever I need him I can just close my eyes, picture his contagious smile, and feel his comfort once again. I love you Papa! Until we meet again.
