Obituary of John Duane Gregory

John Duane Gregory was born on April 4th, 1930 in Walla Walla, WA. He died peacefully on January 13th, 2016 in Shelton, WA. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, WA in 1948, John enlisted in the Navy. He spent 20 years in the Navy, working his way to Yeoman First Class. John retired 10 years later from Navy Reserves. John Gregory is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Gregory; father, John Hamburg; step-father, "Sandy" Sanford and grandson, Ian Webb. He is survived by his wife, Leota Gregory; children Lorri (Greg) Brown; Terese (Rich) Sanzaro; Donald (Jennifer) McLellan; grandchildren Devin (Ashley) Webb; Amanda (Matt) Cushen; Brandon Webb; Cory McLellan; Shiann McLellan; Cylor Brown; Austin McLellan; Kaden McLellan and great-grandson Teegan Webb. "Papa" John retired to Shelton with the love of his life in '93. They spent their days making a beautiful home for themselves on property in Timberlakes. He enjoyed daily fishing trips to the near by lakes, putting together difficult jigsaw puzzles and reading books from his personal, and meticulously organized, library. There will be no services held, per John's wishes.
